APAA Ribbon Cutting

Join us for a Ribbon Cutting ceremony with Angola Performing Arts Academy (APAA). The Ribbon Cutting will be held at 12:30pm.

📅 Date: Thursday, October 9, 2025
⏰ Time: 12:30PM
📍 Location: Angola Performing Arts Academy (APAA), 45 S Public Square, Angola, IN

After the ribbon cutting ceremony, come in to enjoy some light refreshments, and tour the art gallery and the main floor rehearsal room of this wonderful 501c3 non-profit organization.

There is a lot happening at APAA; lessons, workshops, and we will soon be rehearsing for the youth theater show "Little Red Riding Hood-Unplugged", which will take place on the T. Furth Center Stage on Nov. 22 and 23rd. The show is directed by award-winning director and playwright, MK Clark. She is in her 4th year of directing the Youth Theater Arts Camp with APAA and is happy to be having, for the 1st time, a fall production.

In the gallery, pop artist Bryan "Breadwig" Baillinger will be showing his work from his books and creations. He is a muralist, digital arts professor, author, illustrator and toy maker. He graduated from the Columbus College of Arts and Design and has his masters in "Writing for Children", from Lesley University. He was the lead illustrator on the Encarta CD-Rom encyclopedia, Veggie Tales and was a lead illustrator for Microsoft throughout the 90s. Some of his children's books include "A Pig Named Joe", "Counting Cows", and "Animal Gas".

This is an excellent opportunity to support your fellow members.

If you are not yet a Chamber member and are interested in learning more, we’d love to chat with you about the many benefits of membership and the events we host throughout the year. Give us a call at 260-665-3512 — we’re happy to help!

RSVP by September 15th! Click the button below or contact the Chamber at officeadmin@angolachamber.org or 260-665-3512 for any inquiries.

Trine music groups in concert on Oct. 26

Trine music groups in concert on Oct. 26

ANGOLA, IND. (10/06/2025) The Trine University Department of Music will present its first concert of the 2025-2026 academic year, featuring the Trine University Choir and Chamber Orchestra, beginning at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26.

The performance, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Ryan Concert Hall at the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts.

The Trine University Choir, directed by Geoffrey North, Ph.D., will present a wide range of musical selections, including the winner of the 2022 Cantus Composition Prize and 2024 Top 10 best-selling concert choral work for J. W. Pepper, "Time," by Jennifer Lucy Cook.

In addition, the choir will perform an uplifting work fusing the rhythms of African, American and Latin cultures with Swahili and Spanish texts in "Sililiza (Hear Me)." Other pieces include music from Ragtime, a traditional Native American Lyric, and an original gospel composition by Stuart Chapman Hill.

Haunting performance

The Trine University Chamber Orchestra's Halloween "Haunt-cert" will feature music from favorite film and TV shows such as Scooby-Doo, Ghostbusters, Harry Potter and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The orchestra also will perform Sergei Rachmaninoff's ominous "Piano Prelude in C-sharp Minor" arranged for Chamber Orchestra by Trine University's Music Director, Brad Jopek, DMA.

"I hope [the concert] provides our students and ensembles an opportunity to explore music outside of the traditional classical music repertoire and its influence on pop culture," Dr. Jopek said of the concert. "It also includes bringing a little insight on how a Hollywood or Nashville studio orchestra rehearses and records music for films and TV series."

Those who would like to financially support Trine's music programs of the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts can visit https://advancement.trine.edu/register/giving, select "Other Fund" and designate their gift in the Comments section to either the Music Program or the T. Furth Center for Performing Arts.
