Tibbits Film Series: The Great Outdoors

Finally, once Christmas comes and goes, that doesn’t mean the festivities are done! On Saturday, January 3 at 2:00 p.m., Tibbits Film Series welcomes audiences back for a screening of the John Candy and Dan Akroyd 1988 comedy “The Great Outdoors.” Chet Ripley, his wife Connie, and their sons arrive at their lakefront cabin for a relaxing summer vacation, but those plans are ruined when Connie’s sister and her husband, along with their twin daughters, arrive uninvited. As though to recapture the summer, Tibbits is putting on its own cookout, featuring hot dogs and soda, before the film! As with previous Tibbits Film Series screenings, tickets to the movie are by donation, while entry to the cookout is $5 at the door.

APAA Gallery Features: Insect Collective by Shane Morris

This exhibit features a unique artist who creates striking pieces using vintage insect collections. We think this is an especially great opportunity for children or adults that have a specific interest in entomology and bugs—kids tend to find it very cool!

The artist will be at the opening to answer questions and take photos.

Best of the Eagles

Tickets are on sale now as Tibbits Opera House welcomes Best of the Eagles, who will bring their one-of-a-kind tribute act back to the stage at the historic theatre for a third time on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Best of the Eagles has previously performed at Tibbits in January of 2018, and once again in May of 2021.

With the signature tunes that audiences know and love, like “Hotel California”, “The Long Run” and “Desperado”, Best of the Eagles strives to be the most exact interpretation of the music of The Eagles, and preserve the legacy of one of America’s greatest rock super groups.

Best of the Eagles was established in 2012 by guitarist/vocalist Joe Vadala and a group of New Jersey-based professional musicians, passionate about their love for The Eagles’ music. Each of the band members mirrors his counterpart in the Eagles instrumentally and vocally to expertly and authentically re-create the experience of seeing this beloved band in its glory days. In addition to playing the signature hits, Best of the Eagles also plays well-known tunes from The Eagles’ individual members, like Joe Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way.”

In addition to Vadala, Best of the Eagles features Anthony Krizan on drums & vocals, Dan (Dano) Miller on bass & vocals, Jerry Steele on pedal guitar, guitar & vocals, Dave “Squiggy” Biglin on keyboards & vocals, and John Bushnell on rhythm, lead and slide guitars & vocals.

The performance will be held at the historic Tibbits Opera House, 14 S. Hanchett St., in Coldwater, Michigan. Doors to the lobbies, art gallery, and Ghost Light Bar will open at 6:00 p.m., with seating beginning at 6:30 p.m. The concert will begin at 7:00. For those interested, there will be an “On Your Feet” section for audience members who might wish to get up and dance, or simply prefer to stand for the concert-going experience. This section will be specially demarcated when purchasing tickets on the Tibbits website at Tibbits.org. Tickets range from $25 to $54, including fees, and can be purchased by visiting Tibbits.org, in person at the Tibbits Administrative Office at 93 W. Chicago St., Coldwater, MI, or by calling 517-278-6029 during business hours.
