We are searching for a highly motivated and capable individual to join our Parks Department. The position of Park Maintenance assists in the operation and maintenance of the Parks and Trail system for the City of Angola. The candidate must be a self-starter and problem-solver who can work effectively and efficiently without supervision as well as work successfully with other team members and the public.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to;
Operate mowers, tractors, vehicles and equipment
Operate a variety of hand and power tools and trimmers in park landscape maintenance work
Assist in routine maintenance of equipment
Clean restrooms and pick up litter
Maintain and repair park facility buildings and structures
Snow removal and salt spreading
Job Classification: Full-time/non-exempt
Work Schedule: Hours of work will vary, based on the needs of the department. Weekend and holiday work is required.

Wage and Benefits:

Wage Range - $22.53 – 30.30 / per hour (Start rate based on applicable experience)

Ad Title: City of Angola Street Department - Clerical/Maintenance

Description:
We are searching for a highly motivated, capable, self-starter to join our Street Department. This is a newly created position that will perform clerical functions as well as street maintenance duties. Candidates must be multi-functional in clerical duties as well as maintenance tasks, work well in a team environment, possess a desire to learn and understand the importance of and practice excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

Serve as reception for the street department, greeting visitors, answering phone calls, making appointments, etc.

Perform numerous recordkeeping and administrative tasks, such as preparing quotes, bids, recording work orders, working with Indiana 811, Nipsco and REMC for service notices, etc.

Serve as back-up, for street maintenance duties, such as, leaf, brush, limb, and yard waste pick-up, salt and/or sand spreading and snow removal, removal of debris from catch basin tops, install, repair, and replace city street signs and posts, trash collection from downtown city-owned containers, dead animal removal from city areas.

Assist with housekeeping of the office, breakroom and restrooms within the department.
Applicant Qualifications:

High School Diploma or High School Equivalency or GED

Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire and maintain insurability.

Acceptable background and driving record and pass a drug screen
Job Classification: Full-time/non-exempt

Wage and Benefits:

Wage Range - $20.79 – $27.71 per hour (Start rate based on applicable experience)

Job Title: Community Service Work Crew Supervisor PT Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Reports to: Community Service Coordinator Date: 7/27/2017
Purpose Of The Job: To ensure that Community Service work is performed in a timely, safe, and efficient manner by all defendants.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
1. Reports promptly any altercations, no-shows, or non-compliance of offenders to the Community Service Team Leader.
2. Responsible for documentation and verbally reporting anything that affects the everyday operations of the program.
3. Redirect anti-social attitudes/beliefs and affirm pro-social attitudes and beliefs.
4. Supervises work crew supervisors to ensure uniformity.
5. Supervises work crews of up to 8 offenders at one time, and maintains security of worksites.
6. Collect urine/saliva samples as needed.
7. Maintains vehicle and all equipment.
8. Repairs or replaces equipment and reports the same to immediate supervisor.
9. Coordinates with user agency regarding work task and date to be completed.
10. Enforces rules of the program with all offenders under his/her supervision.
11. Report any messages of significance to the appropriate people in an attempt to keep all staff up to date on current events.
12. Attend monthly staffing.
13. Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or Executive Director.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: Experience dealing with offenders, Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement experience, High school graduate / GED

Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificate: Multi-tasking, Organized, Self- Motivated, Basic Computer skills, Ability and Willingness to Learn, Ability to work flexible hours. Understand and use the principles of evidenced based practices as a guide in interactions with
program participants.
